Why a National Patient Survey?

Increased patient-centeredness

The last few years have been characterized by a trend towards increased patient influence.  Reforms for freedom of choice and increased patient mobility but also the development of alternative forms of operating/ managing health care has speeded the development of a new attitude towards the individual patient's role in health care. 

A new patient law which started applying on the 1 of January 2015, aims to strengthen and clarify the patient's status and promote integrity, self-determination and participation.


With the results from the survey we can get better!

Results from previous measurements by the National Patient Survey and recent international studies have stated the need for improvement, particularly regarding information on healthcare and how the patients themselves through increased participation might affect their own situation. Results of measurements within the framework of the National Patient Survey will therefore continue to provide vital data for improvement and organization development.
